Alliance of Angels Appoints Greg Huey Program Director
Former principal at Frazier Technology Ventures selected to manage operations of one of the nation's most active angel investment groups
SEATTLE, WA – May 4, 2009 — The Alliance of Angels (AoA), the Pacific Northwest's premier not-for-profit angel investor group and a program of the Technology Alliance, today announced the appointment of Greg Huey as its new Program Director. Huey brings more than 10 years of corporate development and investment experience to his new position managing the operations of AoA, one of the nation's most active angel groups based on 2007 and 2008 deal activity.
"Greg emerged as the exceptional candidate from a very competitive field of applicants for this position," said Dan Rosen, chair of Alliance of Angels and CEO of Dan Rosen & Associates. "He was a member of AoA during his time at Frazier Technology Ventures, so he brings a familiarity and appreciation for what we do in addition to a wealth of experience working with investors and startup companies."
"I'm very excited to join the AoA team and build upon the great work that everyone has been doing here," said Huey. "I am particularly eager to work with the Seattle entrepreneurial community again as well as leverage my private equity and venture capital background to serve as an asset to the organization and its members."
Prior to accepting the program director position with AoA, Huey spent 18 months overseeing strategy and corporate development for Hewlett-Packard in London, England. There, he managed mergers and acquisitions for the company in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Before Hewlett-Packard, Huey spent nearly six years at Frazier Technology Ventures in Seattle, where he participated in all aspects of the firm's venture investing, including the sourcing and structuring of deals, due diligence, and service on the boards of portfolio companies.
Previously, Huey was an analyst for private equity firm GTCR Golder Rauner, LLC and for investment bank Alex. Brown & Sons, Inc. He holds a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School, with concentrations in venture capital and entrepreneurial management, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgetown University.
"Greg is an outstanding addition to our team," Rosen concluded. "Everyone at AoA is looking forward to working with him to advance our investor education and deal screening process and to build on our program, which is nationally recognized for its track record in directing investment to promising young companies in our region."
Huey officially begins his tenure as AoA program director on Tuesday, May 5th.
