The Technology Alliance is a statewide, non-profit organization of leaders from Washington’s technology-based businesses and research institutions united by our vision of a vibrant innovation economy that benefits all of our state's citizens. Through programs, events, data analysis, and policy activities, we advance excellence in education, research, and entrepreneurship to support the growth of our high-impact industries; the creation of high-wage jobs; and economic prosperity for our entire state.

SciTech Northwest 2017

The region's only annual science and technology expo will take place this October to highlight the latest innovations from three of Washington's premier research institutions. This year's theme is data in all of its forms, including big data, visualization, modeling, predictive analytics, cyber security, the cloud, and smart devices. This year, inventors and commercialization experts from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, University of Washington, and Washington State University will showcase 21 exciting new technologies with hands-on demonstration. This Technology Alliance event includes keynote speaker Ewa Dominowska, a Director at Google Research, who leads the company's machine learning and artificial intelligence teams.

Annual State of Technology Luncheon with Reid Hoffman

In May, the Technology Alliance welcomed Co-Founder of LinkedIn and Partner at Greylock Partners Reid Hoffman and angel investor Sarah Imbach at its annual State of Technology Luncheon. The event showcased the region’s tech and innovation strengths and pointed to areas where more work is needed. A summary of the data shared is noted in this brochure. The message at the luncheon was clear: innovation drives economic growth, both opportunity and impact, and it is incumbent on all of us to work together on the areas that need strengthening.

Exploring the Power and Potential of Corporate Venturing

The Rebels, Gurus, Gamblers of Corporate Venture Capital explores how companies can further their strategic and financial objectives through external partnerships and investments. This newly published Tech Alliance white paper also looks at the broader impact that corporate venturing can have on the innovation ecosystem and proposes different paths to growing the CVC community in the Pacific Northwest.
