PRESENTED BY THE TECHNOLOGY ALLIANCE
An innovation-driven economy provides both opportunity and impact, and requires continued investments in R&D and education systems. That was the message that 1000 business, education, and civic leaders heard at the Technology Alliance's annual State of Technology luncheon on May 2, 2016. The event featured a wide-ranging conversation between Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and GeekWire Chairman and PicMonkey CEO Jonathan Sposato. From leadership and culture to digital transformation and the societal impact of technology, Nadella shared both personal and professional stories.
The State of Technology luncheon brings together leading entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors, and service providers from across Washington’s technology-driven sectors to take stock of the state’s economic health. This year’s event looked both at the history of the state as an innovator generator (see included infographic) and toward a future seeded by the next generation of pioneers. Joining Nadella in looking forward were three other local CEOs: Clayton Lewis with personalized health start-up Arivale; Forest Key with virtual reality start-up Pixvana; and Chris Diorio with RFID manufacturer Impinj. Microsoft’s President and Chief Legal Officer Brad Smith provided closing remarks.
