Technology Alliance Celebrates Passage of Life Sciences Discovery Fund and University Technology Transfer Legislation

New Economic Impact Study Reveals Importance of Technology-Based Industries to Washington State's Economy

Economic impact report The Technology Alliance recently completed the fourth in a series of studies of the economic impact of technology-based industries in Washington State. The study showed that these industries have become increasingly vital to our state's overall economic health, accounting for the largest share of employment, labor income and business activity of any major sector in the state economy in 2003.

Welcome new TA board members!

The Technology Alliance is pleased to welcome two exceptional new members to our board: Janice Anderson, CEO of Onyx Software, and Brian Vincent of Vulcan Capital.

As CEO of Onyx Software, Ms. Anderson sets the vision and strategic direction of the company. Prior to Onyx, she held executive management positions with Lucent Technologies, AT&T Corporation, and two technology startups. Her career spans 21 years in the telecommunications and CRM arena.

Mr. Vincent focuses on technology venture investments at Vulcan Capital. Previously, he served as chairman, president and CEO of Quintessent Communications, Inc., a provider of enterprise level software products and services acquired by American Management Systems Inc., and president and managing director of Asia Pacific for Nextel International.

Both were elected to the board at its January meeting, and we are delighted that they have joined us.
