Science, Technology & Business Discovery Series
The Science, Technology & Business Discovery Series highlights new and breakthrough developments in science, technology and their business applications by showcasing Washington state scientists and business leaders, particularly from the Spokane region. The speaker series is designed for business and community leaders who want to stay on top of important advancements being made in our state, nationally and internationally. Discovery Series presentations begin at 8:00 am and open with a buffet breakfast at 7:30 am at the Spokane Club. The intimate setting encourages discussion with a Q&A session following the speaker's presentation. Each session adjourns promptly at 9:00 am.

November 21, 2008: M. Grant Norton of the WSU School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering on new energy technologies, especially in nanotechnology.
January 16, 2009 : Roger Woodworth of Avista Utilities on Smart Grid technologies and the benefits for America’s power generation and distribution.
February 20, 2009 : Patricia Hunt of the WSU School of Molecular Biosciences on the environmental factors - especially in plastics - that affect reproductive health.
March 20, 2009 : Suzanne Lindsey from the biotech startup Recodagen on new therapies to stop the spread of cancerous tumors.
May 15, 2009: Guy Palmer from the WSU Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology on the link between human and animal health.
