September 22 : Dr. Lee Siwek, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon, Sacred Heart Medical Center, will discuss the da Vinci robot and its use in cardiac bypass surgery.
October 27 : Daniel Malarkey, Founder, Washington Biodiesel, will talk about using canola to manufacture biodiesel and the new refining facility under construction in Warden, Washington.
December 8 : Dr. Leroy Hood, Founder and President, Institute for Systems Biology, will delineate his use of emerging systems technologies in predictive, personalized and preventive medicine.
February 2 : Dr. Toby Bradshaw, Washington Research Foundation Professor of Biological Science, University of Washington, will talk about the biology behind the controversy over genetically engineered food.
March 2 : Dr. Kim Kidwell, Associate Professor of Crop & Soil Sciences, Washington State University, will talk about breeding, genetics, and cultivar development of spring wheats.
May 4 : Dr. Bonnie Dunbar, NASA astronaut and CEO of the Museum of Flight, will discuss her five shuttle missions and lessons learned from this amazing frontier.
June 1 : Dr. Howard Grimes, Dean of the Graduate School and Professor of Molecular Biosciences/Molecular Plant Sciences, Washington State University, will discuss his research on changing plant biochemistry for use in new therapeutic approaches to diseases such as asthma and arthritis.
