Join Us - November 10th!

Gene editing has huge implications for future innovation with the potential to provide opportunities that span industries. Though numerous Washington-state organizations have gained a foothold in this emerging field, many questions remain.

Join us for this year’s Policy Matters Summit where will create a deeper understanding of gene editing and the Bioeconomy. Through robust conversations with leaders in the field, we will dispel myths and mitigate the fear-mongering that is often associated with these technologies. Our second annual event will bring together 200 cross-sector leaders from across Washington state in a day-long retreat to make connections, build bridges, and expand knowledge — all focused on strengthening the state’s innovation economy.

Our agenda includes a morning session of introductory presentations to establish a fundamental understanding of gene editing and how these technologies are already being used here in our state (specifically focusing on the bioscience and agriculture advancements.) After lunch and a networking break, our conference will resume with a discussion of the relevant policy issues and an introduction to the bioeconomy. Finally, our day will conclude with insights from other policy makers and experts into what is necessary to keep Washington competitive in this space.
