Make Remote Learning Better Now

Failure to prepare for the next pandemic will no longer be excused as a failure of imagination, but a failure of leadership.

Washington’s K-12 system was underprepared for the COVID-19 pandemic. While schools did an admirable job during this difficult time, it’s clear that access to equitable digital learning is a necessity now and into the future to best serve Washington’s students. Too many children have lost learning opportunities already, and we are all struggling to meet the needs of our children. We must prepare our systems of education for the next calamity, and we have that opportunity right now - while we are all learning remotely, together. And these improvements will help everyone, not just the students.
